1994 Jaguar Vanden Plas 4.0?

I thought fuel pump. then 1 day it started but no a/c. Now it won't start again. I moved some relays around when debating whether or not to take out the fuel pump. It did not start then, but a week later. My wife drove it for a few days with and the a/c won't cool, it was fine before. I pulled a vacuum on the system and it held over night. I have tried to put in 134a but the system won't take it. I have rebuilt many a/c's on cars I don't think this could be that different. Now the car won't start again. It just turns over. If it wasn't for this being my wifes favorite car I would get rid of it. I think it has gremlins.
