Can gray hair turn back to its original color?

I have had grey hair, for so many years that I forgot what it originally looked like. I always have it dyed blond, but in the last few months I have very dark hairs growing through, and I have also added more veggies to my diet eg lots of broccoli,zucchini, maybe this is the answer so I will continue to eat more.
