How to not be hungry?

I have been on a weight loss venture recently, and it is becoming difficult. I am used to eating large meals every few hours and I'm trying to cut it down to three meals a day, with small snacks in between. But I have been so unbearably hungry, I have cheated several times. Is there a way to be less hungry? I know about the whole fiber thing, but that doesn't really work for me. Any tips?? Thanks
