Is it wrong to fib about 'born that way and can't change' if it's necessary to get civil rights?

I don't care if it's innate or if it's a choice. The government has no place telling me my church cannot allow me to marry a person of the same gender. marriage is defined by religious dogma, not civil or secular. If my Methodist Church says it's okay, then the government has no right to keep me from marrying whomever I love.
