Please help me with this 8th grade math problem?

kee had to buy 2 tires and patch the tires on his bicycle 3 times this year. How much did he spend repairing his bicycle if these were all the repairs he needed? use the variables x and y to write an expression for the cost of kee's repair. Then find the total cost of his repairs. A patch costs $0.59 and a tire costs $8. Please help because i'm stuck. thanks
